Waiver of Liability Agreement for SOLES for SOLR
BEFORE YOU REGISTER FOR THE RACE, PLEASE READ AND AGREE TO OUR PARTICIPANT WAIVER. THANK YOU!
In consideration of being permitted to register and participate in the 2026 SOLES for SOLR 1 mile Dog Walk and Meet and Greet for Available SOLR dogs hosted by SOLR on January 13, 2026, I acknowledge that these activities are potentially hazardous and involve the risk of serious injury. I confirm that I am medically able and properly trained to participate. I hereby release, waive, and discharge Southwest Oasis Labrador Rescue. and its officers, City of Tempe, race organizers, hosts, sponsors, volunteers, employees, assignees, or any individual associated with this event (collectively, the “Releasees”) from any and all liability for injuries, damages, or losses I may experience, including legal fees. This release applies to me, my representatives, assigns, heirs, and next of kin, and covers any claims arising from my participation in this event or related activities, whether caused by the negligence of the Releasees or otherwise.
I further assume full responsibility for any risk of bodily injury, death, or property damage arising from my participation, whether these risks are foreseeable or unforeseeable, and regardless of whether they are caused by the negligence of the Releasees. I acknowledge that risks associated with participation include, but are not limited to, falls, contact with other participants, dog-related injuries (such as bites, leash accidents, or dog fights), encounters with wildlife (such as insects, reptiles, or coyotes), and the effects of weather, traffic, and road conditions. I also agree to hold the Releasees harmless from any claims related to the loss, disappearance, theft, death, or injury of my dog(s), whether due to the negligence of any party or otherwise.
I acknowledge that any injuries I may suffer could be worsened by negligent medical attention or procedures provided by the Releasees, and I agree that this Waiver and Release of Liability extends to all such acts of negligence. This agreement is intended to be as broad and inclusive as permitted by Arizona law, and if any portion is deemed invalid, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect. I understand that the entry fee is non-refundable and non-transferable. I also permit the use of my name and image in broadcasts, telecasts, newspapers, brochures, and other promotional materials. I further acknowledge that if the event is canceled due to weather, acts of God, or other unforeseen circumstances, I will not receive a refund, as funds will have already been used to prepare for race day.
Changes to Terms of Use
We reserve the right to modify this agreement by posting updated terms on our online platforms. Any changes will take effect immediately upon posting, and your continued participation in the event will constitute acceptance of the amended terms.
Authority to Cancel the Event
The Race Director, in conjunction with the City and local law enforcement, has the authority to cancel the event. If the event is canceled due to threatening conditions, no refunds will be provided. However, participants will receive an email with information on how to receive their Participant Race Package.
COVID-19 Waiver
By agreeing to this COVID-19 waiver, I acknowledge the contagious nature of the SARSCoV-2 virus (the “novel coronavirus”) and voluntarily assume the risk of exposure or infection by attending or participating in the event. I understand that this exposure may result in personal injury, illness, permanent disability, or death, and that these risks may arise from my own actions or those of others, including participants or Releasees. I agree to follow all COVID-19 safety measures during the event, which may include social distancing, wearing masks, frequent hand washing or sanitizing, and avoiding face-touching. I understand that these precautions are for my own safety and that of others at the event. I voluntarily assume the risk of exposure or infection if these practices are not followed.
I have read this Waiver and Release of Liability and Assumption of Risk Agreement. I fully understand its terms, acknowledge that I am giving up substantial rights by signing it, and do so freely and voluntarily without any inducement or guarantee. I intend my signature to be a complete and unconditional release of all liability of the Releasees to the fullest extent allowed by law.
